Harris TZ

The Harris framed TZs began to materialise in the early 70’s. This particular frame is believed to have been built in 1972, when the first of the water cooled TZs appeared. If you have a look at the “Independant Motorcycle Framemakers” book, on pages 41 and 42 there are a couple of picture of the frame, and complete bike.

I intend to build this up exactly as the shown complete Harris bike. Although if anyone can provide information as to the colour scheme it would be most helpful.

Having bought the frame and various bits in the state shown, I have been working hard to build it up into a respectable machine. New engine mounts have been brazed on to take the TZ engine.
I have also sourced the CMA wheels, and the front disc carriers, plus original Yamaha front discs. Yamaha E forks and yokes are also ready to go on. Have been very lucky in that I found a Harris rear wheel spindle complete with spacers at the Stafford show.

As you can see from the below photos, it is beginning to take shape.
