Croft (Aug 28/29th)
Having come off last season, I wasn’t too sure about this meeting. It’s a great circuit, with some fast flowing corners, and some slow ones. My confidence grew as myself and Dean had some great dices, and managed to knock 4 or 5 secs off last years times. He beat me in all 3 races by one place.

Snetterton (Sept 18/19th)
Revisiting the circuit for the second time in a matter of months, meant that I was very confident of getting good results. Our races were plagued with red flags, but thankfully nothing too serious. In the first race I had a 4th in class, then for the 2nd it chucked it down. Was running 3rd in class and 7th overall, when it seized only ½ a lap from the end. Gutted. Crank had broken! Next day was again running 3rd, when an incident brought out the red flags. My bike cut out, and a mad dash to the paddock had me changing ignition and retiming it, and just made it out as the grid formed, so I had to start from pit lane. Got up to 4th in class, another red flag and taken back a lap giving me 6th. Not a bad weekend. And to top it all, I got down into the 1min 25s. A whole 6 secs quicker than last year.

Cadwell Park (Oct 2nd)
This was our second visit to the full circuit, and I really was looking forward to it. In the first race I got my lap times down to 1min 54s, and 6th in class, then the bike didn’t run too well in the next race. I ran out of adjustment on the clutch and couldn’t disengage it. Turned out that the clutch inner had broken off from the centre splines. How it stayed together I don’t know. Also the ignition rotor came loose, which didn’t help the timing at all. And that was it for the Championship. Came 4th in class, which considering the bad start to the season, wasn’t too bad. The bikes running ok, and I’ve got my confidence back again. Roll on next season.
Race of the Year (Oct 3rd)
On Sunday we were last race on, which meant that all the good weather had gone, and the rain was well and truly here to stay. It had rained in June, and I’d gone well, so was confident of having a good ride. Started off slowly so as to gauge the grip, and then had to work my way up the field. Did really well overtaking going up the mountain! Minor incident on the last lap when I was right behind Roger Wilson, going through Hall Bends for the last time. A diesel decided that he’d try to dive inside at the hairpin, where I had to sit up, as he flashed past my front wheel, and duly bashed into Roger’s rear, sending him off the track but thankfully he finished. The diesel didn’t finish, as I guess he hit the tyre wall once he’d used Roger as a brake.
I came 6th in class and 12th overall, which was a good finale to the weekend.
