T200 Invader. This is Keith Brown at Lydden, on the bike with which he won the 2000 CRMC 250 Twins Championship. It was built by Andy Bacon, and had been used on the IOM.

Yamaha TD1C. These were the forerunners of the infamous Yamaha TRs, TBs and finally the TZ came along with reliability and water-cooling. Whether these bikes put the nail in the coffin of the British race bikes, is up to you to decide.

Yamaha TZ350A. This may be an ‘A’, but if not then please correct me. It’s from the Sammy Miller collection, which is well worth a visit. The first of the water-cooled TZs, it remained in much the same guise until 1981, when Yamaha stopped production of the 350.

Padgetts Yamaha 500. Webster & Hewitt *
This is Steve Webster with passenger Tony Hewitt, in action at Carnaby back in September 1984, before going on to win many World Championships. Also in the same field were Dennis and Julia Bingham on another Yamaha 500 outfit.

Post-Classic Racing

Wayne Gardner, on a 748 Honda. * Again, this picture was taken in 1984, at Carnaby, in the Shell Oils British TT F1 championship. He was also riding in the 500cc World Championship that year.

Bill Ivy and Agostini *. Two of the greatest riders ever, in conversation at the IOM in the late 1960s.
